Terms & Conditions of registration

These Terms and Conditions govern participation in the Bombala Art Prize (the “Event”). Registration for the Bombala Art Prize constitutes full acceptance of these terms.

    • Artist Registrations (adult) are limited to 100 places in total

    • Artist Registrations will close once the ticket allocation is exhausted.

    • Youth Registrations are free (for school age painters) and unlimited but must have permission to register from a parent or guardian.

    • All Youth entrants must state their age, guardian’s name and phone contact details, and be accompanied by a supervising adult the duration of the painting session.

  • The Artist Registration - paint ‘en plein air’ includes:

    • Permission to paint within the designated Event Location between the hours of 10am and 4pm, Saturday 18 April, 2026.

    • Social/networking opportunities via the closed artist facebook group.

    The Child Registration - paint ‘en plein air’ includes:

    • Permission to paint within the designated Event Location between the hours of 10am and 4pm, Saturday 18 April, 2026.

    • Eligibility to enter one artwork into the Youth Category of the 2026 Bombala Art Award.

    The Earlybird Artist Bundle Registration and Artist Bundle Registration include:

    • Social/networking opportunities via the closed artist facebook group and during the Award Dinner.

    • Eligibility to list your Artist Profile on the Bombala Art Prize website: www.bombalaartprize.com

    • Permission to paint within the designated Event Location between the hours of 10am and 4pm, Saturday 18 April, 2026.

    • Entry to the 2026 Bombala Art Prize Award Dinner which includes Bombala Art Prize Art Exhibition, Bombala Art Prize Award Presentation and an art auction.

    • Eligibility to enter one artwork in the 2026 Bombala Art Prize Art Exhibition and to be in the running for the Award. Artists must attend the Award Dinner to be eligible to win a prize.

    • Eligibility to sell your artwork in the Art Auction.

    The Bombala Art Prize Award Dinner ticket, Earlybird Artist Registration Bundle and Artist Registration Bundle includes:

    • One (1) “vote” to cast for your favourite artwork entered in the 2026 Bombala Art Prize Exhibition. Voting cutoff is 8.30pm, 18 April 2026.

    • Cancellations made within 7 days of event are not refundable.

    • Cancellations made more than 7 days prior to the event will be refunded less a 20% processing fee.

    • All registration and ticket transfers must be requested and confirmed in writing to info@bombalaartprize.com.

  • All participants must conduct themselves professionally and respectfully towards organisers, volunteers, fellow artists, property owners and the public.

    Unacceptable behaviour — including harassment, discrimination, or disruption — may result in removal from Bombala Art Prize Events without refund.

    Artists must:

    • Keep painting locations clean

    • Respect private property and access restrictions

    • Avoid paint spills or actions that may permanently damage surfaces

    • Never dispose of paint water or solvents on-site

    • Participants are responsible for their own safety during all Bombala Art Prize activities.

    • Participants painting outside do so at their own risk.

    • Participants must prepare appropriately for outdoor conditions, including sun protection, suitable clothing, weather preparation and secure setup of equipment (easels, umbrellas, tripods, chairs).

    • Children of registered artists and Youth participants must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times.

    • Bombala Art Prize is not responsible for injuries, accidents, illnesses, or property damage incurred by participants.

  • By registering or buying Award Dinner tickets, all participants grant Bombala Art Prize permission to photograph them and their artworks, and to use such images for promotional and marketing purposes in print and digital media.

  • Award Categories

    • Bombala Art Prize — Open to all registered artists who book and attend the Award Dinner.

      Bombala Youth Art Prize — For school aged artists (under 18 years of age need parent/guardian consent and supervision).

    • All works must be created outdoors, without the use of electronic aids (e.g. cameras, tablets, computers, digital rulers, etc).

    • Only original artworks created at the Bombala Riverside Park, between 10am and 4pm, 18 April 2026 are eligible to enter the Bombala Art Prize.

    • Artists must photograph the finished artwork in front of the scene where it was painted and provide the image if requested by judges.

    Eligible Media:

    • No sculpture or photography can be entered.

    • Oil and acrylic works must be applied to on panel or stretched canvas on a frame with appropriate hanging wire.

    • Watercolour/Gouache works must be submitted on a mat board.

    • Provide your own hanging mechanism (D-rings, hooks or wire) if you wish work to be hung in art exhibition.

    • Works that do not meet presentation or safety standards may be declined at the curators’ discretion.

    • Artwork submission deadline is 4pm Saturday, 18 April, 2026.

    • Submitted works must remain on display until after the Award Dinner Art Auction and collected on the night by artists or purchasers.

  • Bombala Art Prize will take reasonable care with artworks, but is not liable for damage, theft, or loss at any stage of the Award, including during display, transport or storage. Artists are encouraged to arrange their own insurance.

    • The 2026 Bombala Youth Art Award winner will be selected by the Curator.

    • The 2026 Bombala Youth Art Award winner does not have to attend the dinner to accept the prize.

    • The 2026 Bombala Art Award will be selected by People’s Choice at the Award Dinner.

    • Votes will be cast, counted and announced by organisers during the Award Dinner.

    • Artists must be present at the Award Dinner to be eligible for the prize. If the artist is not present the prize will go to the artwork with the next highest total votes.

    • All judging decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

    • Prize money will be paid to winning artists within 30 days by bank transfer.

    • Entering works into the Art Auction is optional. Artists reserve the right to not sell their work and to set a reserve sale price.

    • Artists must specify a reserve price if they wish to sell their work when they submit their work to the curator at 4pm.

    • A 20% commission applies to all artworks sold.

    • Payments (minus commission) are processed within 30 days by bank transfer.

    • Unsold works must be collected by the artist; unclaimed works may be donated to charity.

  • Updates will be published on the Bombala Art Prize website and apply immediately to future Events.

    Participants are responsible for their own transportation, accommodation, materials and personal equipment.

    The Bombala Art Prize reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions at any time.
